Well, I havent been here in awhile so I figured I should check it out. Would love to change my background, but not sure if its still tempermental. So, today will be random thoughts. lol Its the weekend, thank the gods!! LOL My fibro is getting worse and worse making it harder for me to do my job. Cant cut my own hours just so I can apply for disability as I wont be able to pay my bills. Not sure how to change all that. I do know, I have to make some changes. In my head I'm trying to figure out different options, but I will admit to being a bit afraid of making any kind of leap into the unknown when it comes to money.
I know, I will hold off until after my trip next weekend. I so need this weekend away. Going away to nashville and cant wait! yes, its a wrestling weekend. lol but, whenever I go away like this, its so refreshing to my mind, body and soul. I hate coming home, but can better cope with reality again. Which may also help clear my thinking on changes that are needed.
Btw, if anyone that reads this has fibromyalgia and has found some natural things in making the pain less I would love to know them. I used to take viatamins, but that doesnt seem to work anymore. In fact, I took a whole slew of vitamins. I thought working a split shift at work would help since in enabled me to take a break in the middle of the day. But, I came to realize that it made tihngs worse. I dont know why. It just seems to be easier for me to work straight through, go home and call it a day. But, I'm stuck with split as my boss can be a dense idiot.
Been doing a lot of reading and trying to study my spirituality. Learning a lot through some of the different tarot books I bought. Tarot magick, Tarot for Self discovery, Tarot tips. good books.
Ah yes, another option I have is doing phone readings for a company that has a pretty good following, so there are calls coming in. Again, its hard to find the time with my job, fibro, CFS, and my daughter with her two kids has moved in temporarily. She just HAS to find a place soon.
Need to put some stuff on ebay too. Sold a couple of things which helps. Lets see what else I can find. lol I do have a lot of books I really dont want. I can put those on half.com.
Ok, rambled enough Should go take care of some stuff for the day. Hope eveyrone has a wonderful weekend.
Ok, I came on covenspace and saw the notice that the owner is not going to remove every barebreasted goddess photo. Now, is it just me or are we finding prudish pagans? Where are they coming from and if sex is offensive why not just go back to being a xtian? As pagans all the studying we do, one of the things we change about ourselves is how beautiful the body is and how wonderful sex is. And it should not be hidden, concealed or a guilt thing. All I can say is WTF??? And I hope more than my list of friends sees this!!!
You know, I have been looking through some of the members here and I mostly see wiccans. Lots of love and light, harm none, kind of pagans. Now, I'm not trying to piss anyone off, but where are the LHPers?? The pagans and witches that want to try new ways of magick? The ones that know all magick is manipulation in some way and affects others no matter what you do? The ones that actually do magick to better their lives, as real witches did in the beginning when there was no rede? The ones that know wiccan and witch are NOT the same thing? So what if the RHPers back away and think we're evil?? (kind of hypocritical considering what they say xtians do) And no, you dont have to be dark and brooding. Just embrace your dark/shadow and light side. Work with both and do what you need to do in your life without fear. That doesnt mean not to be repsonsible. It just means to be realistic.
You know, I really would like to put more photos in my gallery, but everytime I try it says Invalid id. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? Or who I would email to try and figure out whats going on?
Well, my first blog and not too sure what to say. lol I hope to meet other pagans. It would be nice to meet some close in proximity. I've had to recently kind of remanifest myself and things around me. And in the process have lost some very very unreliable pagan friends. But, then I suppose they werent really my friends. I'm looking forward to starting my own coven, but plan on taking it slow. I'm glad someone had the forsight to start something like this.
Witchcraft (from Old English wiccecræft "sorcery, necromancy"), in various historical, anthropological, religious and mythological contexts, is the use of certain kinds of supernatural or magical powers. A witch (from Old English masculine wicca, feminine wicce, see Witch (etymology)) is a practitioner of witchcraft. The Online Etymology Dictionary states a "possible connection to Gothic weihs "holy" and Ger. weihan "consecrate," and writes, "the priests of a suppressed religion naturally become magicians to its successors or opponents."Witchcraft still exists in a number of belief systems, and indeed there are many today who self-identify with the term "witch".
Witches are traditionally stereotyped as being female, however their male equivalents were also often referred to as witches . Probably the most obvious characteristic of a witch was the ability to cast a spell, a "spell" being the word used to signify the means employed to accomplish a magical action. A spell could consist of a set of words, a formula or verse, or a ritual action, or any combination of these. Spells traditionally were cast by many methods, such as by the inscription of runes or sigils on an object to give it magical powers, by the immolation or binding of a wax or clay image (poppet) of a person to effect him or her magically, by the recitation of incantations, by the performance of physical rituals, by the employment of magical herbs as amulets or potions, by gazing at mirrors, swords or other specula (scrying) for purposes of divination, and by many others means.
Need a laugh? Well, people seemed to enjoy my "top ten" list yesterday, so I thought I'd give you a link to someone else's...and this one's really fun! I present: Top 10 Signs You're Facing a "Wannabe".
